Distant Control Group The people of Distant Control Group have as their primary goal to revolutionize control systems such as those for lighting or appliance control. We hope to do this, not by making the systems "smarter" and more complicated but by making things simpler. There are a lot of products that can do a lot of things but if they are too expensive for people to buy or too difficult to use, what good are they? We want to change things by making them affordable and easier to use. "Cheaper" and "less smart" usually refer to something that doesn't do very much. Hopefully that isn't always true.

We hope to work with developers around the world to develop an open "non-standard". Having rules to follow is fine but some "standards" are very restrictive and often require payments to a standards group. Often so called "open standards" aren't really open. There are lots of ways to control devices and as long as the devices "play together" OK they don't have to know what the other devices are doing.
